ILM Shipping Services (Pvt) Ltd has strengthened its Internal Transfer Vehicle (ITV) operations at the Hambantota Port with the addition of a new fleet of prime movers. The handover ceremony was held at HIPG’s premises, where Hadley Rodrigo, Chairman of ILM Holdings (Pvt) Ltd, officially handed over the vehicles to Danushka Pinto, Assistant General Manager of HIPG.
The development is a significant step forward for HIPG’s container operations and a reinforcement of its strategic role in the regional maritime industry. As the deployment of experienced drivers, along with the new fleet, is expected to greatly improve Hambantota terminal efficiency and increase in vessel calls and projected a substantial rise in container volumes.
