In a glittering ceremony held on 30 October 2025 at Bombay Exhibition Centre during the India Maritime Week, the Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal unveiled the logo of Indian Maritime Centre (IMC) in the presence of Minister of State Shantanu Thakur, Secretary (MOPSW) Vijay Kumar, Special Secretary, Rajesh Sinha, Chairman, IPA, Sunil Paliwal, Joint Secretary (Ports) R Lakshmanan and other dignitaries.
The Logo represents collaborative, innovative and collective vision of the entire maritime community in India. It is a symbol of the Nation’s journey towards the Future defined by maritime excellence and international cooperation.
Speaking after the event, on behalf of the Board of Directors, Devki Nandan, Chairman of Indian Maritime Centre stated that we are confident that as a unified voice of Maritime India, IMC will amplify the ambition and value proposition of India’s maritime Industry across the world and support the realization of the vision of Viksit Bharat. Thanking the Minister for unveiling the logo, Devki Nandan stated that the release of the logo by the hands of Minister sends a message across the entire maritime community and, resonates globally. He also thanked all the board members and management team for their relentless efforts to reach to this stage.
The Indian Maritime Centre (IMC) was set up on 27-09-2024 with mandate from Government of India under the patronage of Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways aimed at pursuing the objectives set out in the Maritime India Vision:2030 (MIV:2030) and Maritime Amrit Kal Vision:2047 (MAKV:2047) to transform India as a formidable Global Maritime Leader. IMC which started with seven members is presently 40 members strong representing Government Bodies/Companies, major ports, non-major ports, shipyards, shipping lines, freight forwarders, coastal shipping, ship management companies, logistics companies, seafarers, maritime institutions etc.
