Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) has inked a strategic MoU with France’s Port of Marseille Fos to enhance India-EU connectivity via the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC).

Signed during French President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to India on February 17, 2026, the agreement focuses on trade facilitation, port digitalization, green bunkering, shore power, and cybersecurity. It establishes a Mundra-Marseille green maritime corridor and co-founds an “IMEC Ports Club” for corridor-wide coordination.

Launched at the 2023 G20 Summit, the 6,000-km IMEC integrates maritime, rail, and digital links, now supercharged by the India-EU Free Trade Agreement dubbed “the mother of all deals.” Mundra and Hazira serve as India’s western gateways, with Marseille Fos adding 70 million tonnes capacity for deeper EU reach.

APSEZ CEO Ashwani Gupta emphasized completing the corridor’s final leg for resilient supply chains. The pact aligns with surging India-Europe trade, positioning IMEC as a Suez alternative amid geopolitical shifts.
