In a major boost to India’s digital commerce infrastructure, the Department of Posts has successfully handled its inaugural online order via the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), stepping in as a full-fledged Logistics Service Provider.

This integration, announced by the Ministry of Communications, empowers ONDC sellers—through buyer apps—to select India Post for comprehensive logistics, from parcel collection and booking to transmission and doorstep delivery. Drawing on its expansive nationwide network, India Post now delivers efficient, affordable e-commerce logistics across the ONDC platform.

The achievement highlights India Post’s evolution into a tech-savvy player in the digital economy. It promises significant gains for small sellers, MSMEs, and rural businesses by ensuring dependable last-mile connectivity throughout the country.

This success advances ONDC’s vision of an open, inclusive digital commerce ecosystem while accelerating the modernization of postal services in India.
