The Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) has allotted a six-acre land parcel to India Post for the development of a state-of-the-art logistics hub near the newly inaugurated Navi Mumbai International Airport. The lease is set for an initial period of 30 years, with provisions for future extension.

According to India Post, JNPA has provided a large land parcel to the Postal Department to create a logistics hub in close proximity to the airport. Over the past year, India Post has accelerated its modernization drive, successfully handling over 7.8 lakh large and heavy shipments for small trades and artisans across India—including toymakers, potters, armorers, blacksmiths, and masons. In early 2025, the postal network also executed a major nationwide dispatch of nearly nine lakh FIFA footballs to schools under the Football for Schools (F4S) initiative, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Educational Consultants India (EdCIL).

On the international front, India Post is strengthening its role as a key player in global logistics and financial connectivity. In collaboration with the Universal Postal Union (UPU), it is integrating India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) with the UPU’s global platform to facilitate secure, low-cost cross-border remittances, particularly to countries in Africa and South America. India Post has also been appointed to both the UPU’s Postal Operations Council and Council of Administration, further enhancing its influence in global postal governance.

Trade flows with the United States have also stabilized following a brief disruption caused by changes to US duty-free import rules. India Post has now confirmed that all shipments have now resumed. Looking ahead, India Post is targeting 30% business growth, with a realistic projection of 18–20% expansion in FY2026.
