On Sunday, June 29, when a commercial vessel was underway in the Gulf of Oman, it was hit by onboard fire. The crew of the commercial vessel received aid from personnel aboard an Indian Navy destroyer. Shortly after a fire broke out in the Palau-registered product tanker Yi Cheng 6’s engine room, the crew of the Talwar-class stealth frigate INS Tabar received a distress call from the ship while it was on a planned deployment in the region. After that, the fire raged on board the tanker until it completely lost power.

Tabar used a small boat and a helicopter to transport 13 of her sailors and firefighting supplies to Yi Cheng 6. The crew of the tanker then collaborated with the navy officers to put out the fire. According to the navy, the fire on Yi Cheng 6 has been contained. When the accident happened, the tanker had already departed Kandla, India, and was traveling to Shinas Port, Oman.
