A connected eBL journey from Mundra to Chicago
ODeX and IQAX, connected via GSBN, have enabled the first-ever live Hapag-Lloyd shipment from India using an integrated eBL workflow. Managed by Transmarinus, the shipment moved from Mundra, India, to Chicago, USA, validating the reliability of the integrated eBL workflow in a live trade environment.
Transmarinus India completed the eBL transfer on 27 May 2026. Transmarinus Inc. in the United States then surrendered the eBL for cargo delivery on 28 May 2026, both through the ODeX platform — while the document remained securely managed on IQAX throughout the transaction lifecycle. Users completed the key actions with only a brief ODeX application tour, pointing to a low-friction, intuitive experience that reinforces the case for scalable eBL adoption industry-wide.

WHY IT MATTERS
Workflow fragmentation is one of the key barriers to wider eBL adoption, with customers often needing to navigate multiple carrier, document and eBL platforms to complete a single shipment. The ODeX–IQAX integration removes this friction: IQAX hosts and manages the eBL from issuance through surrender, while ODeX gives users a familiar interface to access IQAX eBLs and complete supported actions — including transfer and surrender — without switching systems. GSBN provides the trusted data infrastructure connecting the two platforms.
Because Transmarinus had already onboarded with both ODeX and IQAX and connected via a GSBN Organisation ID, the pilot served as a real-world validation of eBL data integration rather than a first-time eBL rollout.

WHAT COMES NEXT
Building on the pilot’s success, ODeX and IQAX plan to expand the integrated workflow to additional HapagLloyd shipments across trade corridors involving India, Jordan, Malaysia and Singapore, including reciprocal flows. The goal: bring IQAX’s eBL capabilities to ODeX’s established customer base, reducing adoption friction and building confidence in digital trade at scale.
