IRFC Sanctions Rs 13,527 Crore for Hyderabad Metro Refinancing

Indian Railway Finance Corporation Limited (IRFC) has sanctioned financial assistance of ₹13,527 crore to L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited for refinancing existing debt of the company.

Project Details

The funds will refinance existing debt of L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) in relation to setting up and implementation of the rail system for 71.16 km on elevated structures on three corridors — Miyapur to L.B. Nagar; Jubilee Bus Station to Falaknuma; and Nagole to Shilparamam — in Hyderabad on design, build, finance, operate and transfer (DBFOT) basis.

Legal Advisory

Khaitan & Co acted as lender’s legal counsel to IRFC on this transaction. The firm assisted in structuring of the deal and drafting and finalization of financing documents.
