J M Baxi-CMA Terminals, A joint venture formed by the consortium of J M Baxi Ports & Logistics and CMA Terminals Holding has emerged as the highest bidder to operate and manage the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Container Terminal (JNPCT). The financial bids were opened on the morning of Tuesday, June 28, 2022, wherein the joint venture emerged as the highest bidder.

J M Baxi Ports & Logistics is a unit of the Mumbai-based maritime and logistics services conglomerate J M Baxi Group, while CMA Terminals Holding is a subsidiary of CMA CGM SA, the world’s third largest container shipping firm, headquartered in France.

The consortium beat to the post other globally well-known contenders for the project, such as DP World, Terminal Investment Ltd (a unit of MSC), JSW Infrastructure, Q Terminals W.L.L. and Philippines-based International Container Terminal Services Inc., it is learnt.

With the privatisation of Jawaharlal Nehru Port Container Terminal (JNPCT), the port authority has now become a full-fledged landlord facility.
