JM Baxi has announced the successful completion of the CERES Project at L&T Kattupalli (MFFK), a technically challenging heavy transportation and marine loadout project delivered through detailed engineering, precise SPMT planning and disciplined field execution.

The project involved the movement and loadout of 110 modules across 23 LOTs, totalling 64,000 MT, supported by 120 Scheuerle Generation 4 SPMT axles and 5 vessels. From load distribution and internal shifting to positioning and vessel loadout, every stage was carefully engineered around varying load requirements, site constraints, equipment availability and operational conditions. The achievement reflects the collective strength of JM Baxi’s Engineering, Operations, HSE, Maintenance and Project Management teams, working together to turn complex requirements into safe and efficient execution.

L&T separately marked a proud milestone with the flag-off of the final shipment of modules for Project CERES from its Modular Fabrication Facility at Kattupalli, near Chennai. A landmark in modular construction, CERES involved the fabrication and delivery of 110 Process and Piperack modules, weighing approximately 64,000 MT, across 23 voyages to the Burrup Peninsula, Australia, for the country’s largest ammonia-urea manufacturing facility. At 2.3 MTPA, CERES is the world’s first highly modularised world-scale ammonia-urea plant.

L&T said CERES is a testament to the strength of Indian engineering, advanced modular fabrication and disciplined execution, powered by the dedication of thousands of people and delivered with 37 million safe workhours, once again demonstrating the company’s capability to deliver complex modular projects to global clients while meeting stringent quality, safety and execution requirements.
