Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) has handled significantly higher cargo in 2017-18 compared to the previous fiscal. It has ended the financial year with throughput of approximately 4.82 million TEUs, as against 4.5 million TEUs in 2016-17.
APM Terminals Nhava Sheva (GTI) had the highest contribution to the overall volume, crossing the 2-million TEU mark with 2.02 million TEUs. The Port Trust-run JNPCT handled 1.48 million TEUs, while NSICT and NSIGT (DP World Nhava Sheva) registered throughputs of 0.64 and 0.65 million TEUs, respectively.
The recently commissioned BMCT (PSA) handled 22,000 TEUs.
