Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) held a coordination meeting with the Container Freight Station Association of India (CFSAI) on June 5, focusing on faster cargo evacuation and proactive monsoon preparedness to ensure uninterrupted port operations.

The discussion centred on streamlining CFS operations, reducing dwell time, and strengthening coordination between the port authority, freight stations, truckers and other stakeholders to avoid congestion during the monsoon season.

JNPA emphasized that maintaining seamless cargo movement ahead of the monsoon is a priority and said the meeting was part of its ongoing effort to strengthen coordination for seamless operations across the port–CFS–road corridor.

The meeting comes after recent disruptions in the Nhava Sheva region, including a proposed transporter agitation over LOLO charges at empty container yards that was called off after a JNPA-convened a joint meeting in late May. It also follows a high-level government review in November 2025 to ease JNPA congestion linked to trailer driver shortages at CFS facilities.
