JSW Infrastructure Ltd expects to handle around 127 million tonnes of cargo in FY27, a modest increase from 121.6 million tonnes in FY26, even as the US-Iran conflict continues to affect operations at its Fujairah liquid terminal in the UAE.

How has the Fujairah terminal disruption affected JSW Infrastructure?

Operations at the Fujairah terminal have been impacted since the conflict broke out on February 28, with the company expecting insurance claims linked to the disruption to be resolved by the end of October. Eight storage tanks are expected to become operational by late July or early August, with three more likely to resume service by September or October. Chief Financial Officer Nagarajan J said the company has factored in only 2 to 2.5 million tonnes of cargo from Fujairah for FY27, while retaining its broader operating guidance for the year.

What is the outlook for cargo volumes once operations normalise?

Joint Managing Director and CEO Rinkesh Roy said cargo movement would depend on market conditions and vessel availability even after the tanks resume operations, noting that pricing and shipping activity at the time would influence actual volumes.

What expansion plans is JSW Infrastructure pursuing domestically?

The company is pressing ahead with its broader growth strategy, with earlier reports indicating plans to invest Rs 16,500 crore across FY27 and FY28. Of this, Rs 13,000 crore is earmarked for port infrastructure and Rs 3,500 crore for logistics operations, as part of its long-term capacity expansion.
