Kamarajar Port Limited (KPL) has formally initiated the public–private partnership (PPP) process for the development of General Cargo Berth–1 (GCB-1), marking a significant milestone in the port’s expansion plans.
The process was launched through a well-attended roadshow held on December 17, 2025, which drew participation from several leading Indian companies. The programme featured detailed presentations and interactive discussions with KPL officials, offering prospective bidders’ clarity on the project scope, commercial framework and development timeline.
Participants also undertook a site visit to GCB-1, gaining first-hand insight into the berth’s location, infrastructure potential and operational advantages. The engagement helped build strong confidence among stakeholders ahead of the tender.
With the roadshow, Kamarajar Port has set the stage for a competitive bidding process, reinforcing its commitment to fostering robust public–private collaboration for capacity creation and cargo diversification at the port.
