The KSRTC is set to launch itself into the logistics and cargo business this week. The transport utility is expected to inaugurate 20 of its six-tonne-large trucks by the end of this week.
The corporation is doing so to diversify its businessand revenue-generation schemes. The trucks will be closed-door ones with vehicle-tracking facility.
The drivers will be selected from the available employee base, and depots across the state will be readied for handling the cargo. Sources confirmed to TOI the launch will take place Saturday and talks are on with potential customers for orders.
