M Angamuthu has been appointed as the Additional Chairperson of Cochin Port Authority (CoPA), while continuing to serve as the Port’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), as per the latest government notification.
The appointment places him in a dual leadership role to oversee Cochin Port’s strategic direction, operational efficiency and key infrastructure projects along India’s southwest coast.
Cochin Port Authority, strategically located on the west coast of India in Kerala, is a major port handling diverse cargo, including containers, petroleum products, coal and general cargo, with ongoing initiatives to modernize port infrastructure, expand capacity and implement green port measures.
Angamuthu’s appointment as additional chairperson comes as the port advances its modernization plans, including terminal upgrades, digitalisation efforts and sustainability initiatives to enhance operational performance and environmental standards.
The dual role will enable seamless coordination between executive management and strategic oversight, supporting Cochin Port’s mission to strengthen its position as a key maritime gateway for southern India while maintaining operational continuity and driving long-term development projects.
