Maruti Suzuki India has begun exporting its premium SUV Victoris, marking a fresh expansion of the automaker’s global footprint from India.

The company said the first overseas shipment of more than 450 units has been dispatched from Gujarat’s Mundra and Pipavav ports to multiple international destinations across Latin America, the Middle East and Africa. While produced at Maruti Suzuki’s Haryana manufacturing facility, the model will be marketed overseas under the name Across.

Victoris, which entered the Indian market in September 2025, has seen strong domestic traction. Industry sources indicate the SUV has attracted close to 70,000 bookings in India by January 1, 2026, with roughly half of those orders already fulfilled.

The export rollout supports the government’s “Make in India, Make for the World” initiative, under which Maruti Suzuki now ships around 18 India-made models to global markets. The company said the addition of Victoris strengthens its strategy of positioning India as a key manufacturing and export hub.

In calendar year 2025, Maruti Suzuki exported over 390,000 vehicles, retaining its position as India’s largest passenger vehicle exporter for the fifth year in a row. The year also marked its return to European markets, with the launch of exports of its first electric vehicle, the e VITARA, produced at the Hansalpur plant in Gujarat.

Between 2020 and 2025, Maruti Suzuki’s overseas shipments grew 4.67 times, significantly outpacing the overall growth in India’s passenger vehicle exports during the same period. The company expects Victoris to further accelerate export growth and gain strong acceptance in international markets.
