Medlog, the inland logistics arm of MSC Group, has inaugurated Medlog 1, a large integrated logistics park at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam, strengthening Saudi Arabia’s ambition to become a global logistics hub. The facility, developed with Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani), is positioned as a key inland freight node linking the eastern gateway with central and western regions of the Kingdom.
Located within King Abdulaziz Port, Medlog 1 spans over 25 acres (around 100,000 square meters) and is designed to handle more than 300,000 TEUs annually. The park offers end-to-end logistics services including container handling and storage, environmentally friendly cleaning, repairs, port shuttling, inventory management, and cross‑docking, along with value-added services such as packaging and labelling.
The hub also supports reefer, ISO and flexi tanks, with cleaning, repair, inspection and food‑grade tanker services integrated on site. Medlog 1 is equipped with GPS‑enabled trucking and is planned to increasingly utilise alternative energy sources as part of its sustainability focus.
Medlog says the new park creates a vital inland freight corridor by improving connectivity between King Abdulaziz Port and major industrial and population centres, including nearby Jubail Industrial City. The project aligns with Saudi Arabia’s National Transport and Logistics Strategy and Vision 2030, which aim to position the Kingdom as a strategic logistics corridor linking three continents while driving economic diversification.
The development is expected to generate more than 400 direct and indirect jobs as Saudi Arabia builds local capabilities in logistics and supply chain services. Medlog operates in over 90 countries, while MSC employs more than 200 people across its Saudi offices and manages the movement of over 3 million TEUs annually through six key ports in the Kingdom.
