MIHAN SEZ, Nagpur’s exports reach Rs 4000 crore

For the fiscal year that ended in March 2025, exports from the Multi-modal International Cargo Hub and Airport at Nagpur (MIHAN) Special Economic Zone (SEZ) increased remarkably to Rs 3,961 crore. This amount represents the most year-over-year growth since the SEZ’s founding and more than doubles the exports of Rs 1,786 crore from the prior year. Strong performance in the IT, aviation, and pharmaceutical industries is responsible for this notable expansion.

Serving markets in the US and other nations, Lupin Pharma’s plant in the SEZ has been essential. Air India Engineering Services Limited (AIESL) and Indamer run maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facilities, while Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TAAL) produces aircraft floor beams. Another major contributor is Dassault Reliance Aviation Limited (DRAL), a joint venture between Dassault of France and Reliance of India. The aviation industry as a whole generated Rs 580 crore in export revenue. With IT behemoths like HCL, TCS, Infosys, and Tech Mahindra functioning inside the SEZ, the software sector has also made a significant contribution. Furthermore, businesses accelerated shipments in response to fears of possible US tariff increases, which increased export numbers even further.

The Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC), which is in charge of MIHAN-SEZ, says that despite this expansion, there are still about 150 hectares of land open to prospective investors. In an effort to draw in more businesses and maintain the area’s economic momentum, plans are in motion to auction off more plots. The Vidarbha region’s economic development is accelerated by MIHAN-SEZ, as evidenced by its remarkable export record.
