A high-level delegation from Japan’s Mitsui E&S Co., Ltd. and Germany-based TGE Marine Gas Engineering has held strategic discussions with India’s Directorate General of Shipping (DG Shipping) in Mumbai as part of a wider visit to explore marine engine and gas-system supply partnerships with Indian yards. The meeting, chaired by Chief Ship Surveyor Pradeep Sudhakar and attended by senior DG Shipping officials along with representatives from SEEED and IIFT, focused on advanced propulsion, LNG and alternative-fuel systems, and modern ship equipment to support India’s shipbuilding ambitions.
Mitsui E&S, a major producer of marine propulsion systems and automated gantry cranes, and TGE Marine, a specialist in gas carrier and fuel gas system engineering, presented on cutting-edge technologies and global market trends in shipbuilding and propulsion. The delegation’s India programme includes meetings with the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, the Shipyards Association of India, and planned visits to Cochin Shipyard and Swan Defence and Heavy Industries to assess engine and equipment requirements and identify concrete collaboration opportunities.
