The Bahamas-flagged MS Island Sky docked at New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) on February 18, 2026, as the season’s second cruise vessel, carrying 95 passengers and 70 crew.

Operated by Sweden’s Salen Shipmanagement AB, the ship arrived from Mormugao at 7:30 AM and berthed at the dedicated Cruise Terminal, departing at 1:00 PM after a brief halt. Passengers received a traditional welcome, including AYUSH meditation center, free Wi-Fi, and a Yakshagana-themed selfie stand by the Ministry of Tourism.

Visitors explored Mangaluru’s highlights via guided tours: Kudroli Gokarnanatheshwara Temple, St. Aloysius Chapel, local markets, and Kalbavi Cashew Factory, immersing in cultural and industrial sites. Streamlined immigration cut wait times, enhancing the experience.

NMPA’s efforts underscore Mangaluru’s rising cruise hub status on India’s west coast, driving local economy through tourism infrastructure. More calls are expected, building on post-pandemic recovery.
