The Railway Board has decided to run a special parcel train from Devlali station to Muzaffarpur in Bihar from October 11.

This train would benefit the Nashik farmers as they will be able to transport their produce to states like Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar in a cost-effective manner.

The Railways has stopped the Kisan Rail service since April this year and not revived it despite continuous demands from the farmers. The authorities concerned said this would be a time-tabled train that would start journey from Devlali on every Tuesday and Saturday to begin with and the frequency would be increased later.

“This train will reach the destinations at scheduled time just like other passenger trains,” an official from Bhusawal division said.
