A new railway between Bhadrachalam Road and Sattupalli will allow for easier transportation of coal by Singareni Collieries Company.

Singareni currently transports coal mined in its Sattupalli and Kothagudem open cast coal mines via road using 500 large trucks. Coal is transported to TS Genco’s thermal power plant at Kothagudem and the new Bhadadri plant planned for December 2017 will also receive coal from the two mines.

The new railway, stretching for just 53.20 kilometers will allow for easier transportation between the mines and the plants, saving time, expense, and pollution. South Central Railway is expected to invest INR 704.31 crore in the project.
