In a major infrastructure boost, J M Baxi Group’s Nhava Sheva Distribution Terminal (NSDT) has completed the strengthening of its Shallow Water Berth, significantly increasing its ability to handle larger vessels and expand operational capacity.

With the upgrade, the terminal can now accommodate vessels with a displacement of up to 45,000 metric tonnes—up from the previous 32,500 MT—and a maximum Length Overall (LOA) of 197 metres. This marks a significant improvement in the terminal’s ability to manage larger maritime traffic.

The enhancement includes the installation of next-generation fenders and advanced berthing aids, raising safety and reliability standards during vessel berthing and cargo operations. Other berthing parameters remain unchanged, ensuring smooth operational continuity.

The development is set to make the terminal more attractive to coastal and regional cargo operators, further reinforcing Nhava Sheva’s role as a key node in India’s maritime and logistics network.
