NISAA has welcomed Northern Railway and the Railway Ministry’s engagement with shipping lines, Container Train Operators and logistics stakeholders at Baroda House on 12 June 2026. The association said the discussions were a positive step toward strengthening India’s logistics ecosystem and improving container transport efficiency.
The group noted that the emphasis on time-tabled services, better port connectivity, higher use of Dedicated Freight Corridors, shifting cargo from road to rail and digital integration should help raise rail’s share in India’s EXIM trade. NISAA also assured full support for these reform measures.
The move reflects growing industry interest in rail-led freight solutions as India looks to improve multimodal connectivity, cut logistics costs and boost supply chain efficiency.
