Celebrating its Golden Jubilee Year, the New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) made a powerful impact at India Maritime Week (IMW) 2025 as a Platinum Sponsor, showcasing its leadership in driving India’s west coast maritime growth.

On the second day of the event, NMPA inked 18 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth a cumulative ₹52,599 crore with leading industry partners including MRPL, Aegis Vopak, Reliance, HPCL, GMPL, and IPRCL. The agreements underline strong private sector confidence in the port’s strategic potential and its role as a catalyst for industrial and logistics expansion in the region.

During the Karnataka State Session on “Exploring PPP Synergies for a Sustainable Blue Economy,” Dr. A. V. Ramana, Chairman, NMPA, emphasized how public–private partnerships are reshaping port operations through innovation, efficiency, and sustainability. He highlighted NMPA’s success in developing mechanised terminals and its pioneering multi-specialty hospital built under a PPP model — the first of its kind among Indian ports.

Dr. Ramana also chaired a dedicated session on “Passenger Experience, Sustainability & Policy Framework” in the Cruise Tourism segment, where he spotlighted India’s emerging potential as a cruise hub. He urged greater focus on digitalisation, green infrastructure, and enhanced passenger amenities to elevate India’s position in the global cruise ecosystem.

Karnataka’s Minister for Ports and Fisheries, Mankal Vaidya, who visited the NMPA Pavilion, lauded the port’s outstanding performance. He noted that NMPA’s profitability has quadrupled since 2019, positioning it among the country’s most efficient and environmentally responsible ports.

As India Maritime Week 2025 continues through October 31, featuring over 100 sessions, state showcases, and ministerial dialogues, NMPA’s landmark achievements exemplify the spirit of Maritime Amrit Kaal Vision 2047 — steering India toward global maritime leadership.
