DESTINATION: EAST COAST
India’s east coast is emerging as a main cargo hub for the country’s trade. Rich in mineral resources and moving at a faster pace on industrialization, the share of states on the east coast, such as Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Odisha, in India’s EXIM trade is growing.
Robust demand for commodities like iron ore in the international market and the increasing requirement of coal for fueling power plants are further expected to boost the country’s trade through the east coast, especially with China and other SoutheastAsian countries.
