By requesting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from international investors for the construction of non-major ports, cruise terminals, multipurpose harbors, shipbuilding and repair facilities, and container terminals at specific port locations, the Odisha government has taken a calculated step to transform its maritime industry.
The Odisha Maritime Board is leading the program, which is a component of a broader plan to improve regional trade, maritime tourism, and cargo processing capacity while creating jobs and industrial growth using Public-Private Partnership (PPP) methods. Eight important sites—Bichitrapur, Bahabalpur, Chandipur, Inchuri, Chudamani, Baliharachandi, Palur, and Bahuda Muhan—are available for phased development along Odisha’s 574.71-kilometer coastline.
To guarantee a planned and sustainable approach to infrastructure expansion, these locations have undergone connection planning, environmental impact evaluations, and traffic estimates. You can get the comprehensive EOI document from the department’s official website. Odisha wants to establish itself as one of India’s leading marine hubs by encouraging innovation, sustainability, and private sector involvement.
