With its vessel ONE Innovation setting a new world record by loading 22,233 TEU, the biggest loading ever recorded on any containership to date, Ocean Network Express (ONE) has accomplished a new milestone in the container transport industry.
The ship left Singapore and is now traveling to Felixstowe via the FE4 shipping route. It is one of six 24,000 TEU-class mega vessels in the ONE fleet.
ONE Innovation was constructed by Japan Marine United Corporation’s Kure Shipyard and delivered in 2023 as the company’s first-ever 24,000-TEU class “Megamax” vessel. The 400-meter-long ship is the largest in ONE’s fleet, with a maximum capacity of 24,136 TEU.
The previous record achieved by ONE in December 2023, when the same vessel loaded 22,000 TEU at a port visit in Singapore, is surpassed by this accomplishment. The ONE Integrity had already established a record in November 2023 with 21,954 loaded TEUs.
ONE Innovation operates on the Premier Alliance’s (formerly THE Alliance) Asia to Europe (FE3) service. The ship is the first of six Megamax ships that will be added to ONE’s fleet.
With a fleet of more than 260 ships carrying about 2 million TEU, Ocean Network Express, which was established in 2017 by combining the liner businesses of “K” LINE, MOL, and NYK, is currently the sixth-largest container carrier in the world.
