Singapore-based Ocean Network Express (ONE) has officially taken delivery of its new container vessel ONE SINCERITY from Japan’s Imabari Shipbuilding. The handover took place at the shipbuilder’s Hiroshima yard and was announced on August 13. With a carrying capacity of 13,932 TEU, the vessel is equipped with four-tier lashing bridges, enabling it to handle a large volume of refrigerated containers. It is also fully compliant with the International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code for the carriage of hazardous cargo.
Imabari Shipbuilding has incorporated advanced design features to enhance fuel efficiency, including an optimized hull form, energy-saving devices, a twisted rudder, and low-friction hull coatings. The vessel’s Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) achieves an estimated 60% reduction compared with regulatory baselines.
Sustainability features include a hybrid exhaust gas cleaning system, exhaust gas recirculation, ballast water treatment, and an inventory list in line with the Hong Kong Convention on ship recycling. Concept designs have also been prepared for future conversion to methanol or ammonia fuels, as well as for onboard carbon capture systems—developments that have already received Approval in Principle from the classification society.
ONE SINCERITY measures 335.94 meters in length, 51.00 meters in beam, and 30.10 meters in depth, with a gross tonnage of 140,233. The vessel is powered by a 7G95ME-C10.6 main engine, offering a service speed of around 22 knots. It is classed by Lloyd’s Register and registered in Singapore.
