OOCL is pleased to announce the launch of the new Asia-East Africa Service 8 (EAX8), providing direct connections between India and East Africa.
The new EAX8 service adopts a butterfly network structure, connecting India’s key gateways, Nhava Sheva and Mundra, with the major East African markets of Mombasa, Kenya, and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. With two loops operating simultaneously, EAX8 provides weekly coverage of both Mombasa and Dar es Salaam while enhancing schedule reliability and operational flexibility.
The new service will commence from Nhava Sheva on September 22, 2026 for the Mombasa Loop and September 23, 2026 for the Dar es Salaam Loop.
The Mombasa Loop (Southbound/Northbound) will follow this rotation: Nhava Sheva – Mundra – Mombasa – Nhava Sheva.
The Dar es Salaam Loop (Westbound/Eastbound) will follow this rotation: Nhava Sheva – Mundra – Dar es Salaam – Nhava Sheva.
