Orissa Stevedores supports smooth oxygen supply

The Orissa Stevedores Limited has extended full support in unloading of medical oxygen cylinders brought in by MV Anna Maria from Singapore handled by the Paradip Port Trust.

The Orissa Stevedores Limited (OSL) has extended full logistic support in unloading of 24 medical oxygen cylinders of 40-litre capacity each, five medical oxygen cylinders and oxygen regulators-humidifiers brought in by MV Anna Maria from Singapore handled by the Paradip Port Trust.

The OSL Group carried out the work like unloading, coordination with Customs for speedy clearance, port clearance and expeditious evacuation of the cylinders without any cost on behalf of the State Government. Jagatsinghpur ADM Dr Kanhu Charan Dhir received the cylinders. Later, the oxygen cylinders were distributed among various State-run hospitals in Jagatsingpur district.  

OSL Group chairman Mahimananda Mishra said, “We are facing an emergency situation due to the second wave of Covid-19. OSL Group is fully committed for the cause of the State and its people. We feel proud for supporting to the Government in this pandemic.”

OSL director Charchit Mishra congratulated the staffs for the smooth unloading of the cylinders.

The OSL, which has all along supported social cause during last three decades of its existence, immediately initiated a massive mask distribution drive in the State after the Chief Minister gave a call urging people to wear masks during the pandemic. The OSL distributed one lakh masks to the public for creating awareness on use of masks. 

The Jagatsinghpur district administration has appreciated the OSL for coming forward with support during the pandemic.

Notably, the OSL Group has undertaken strict observance of the Covid-19 guidelines in its office premises.
