In partnership with the National Logistics Corporation, the Port Qasim Authority, the Karachi Port Trust, and the Gwadar Port Authority, Pakistan has established its first National Dredging and Marine Services (NDMS) company. By offering economical and sustainable dredging services at strategic ports throughout the nation, the new organization hopes to lessen the need for outside contractors and save operating costs.

It is anticipated that the establishment of NDMS will increase Pakistan’s capacity to continue dredging operations throughout the year and boost the effectiveness of its maritime infrastructure. With an emphasis on capital dredging at Port Qasim, one of Pakistan’s biggest deep-sea ports, operations will start in October 2025. Pakistan’s efforts to build its own dredging capability have begun with this project.

Pakistan wants to guarantee uninterrupted operations at its main ports by building its own dredging capability. This will increase marine efficiency and promote long-term growth in the shipping and logistics sectors.
