Paradip Port Trust has invited bids for the mechanization of its multipurpose berth (MPB) in Odisha on a build-operate-transfer (BOT) basis. The concession will run for 30 years, including a construction period of 30 months. Designed as a common-user public-private partnership (PPP) facility, the project will handle dry bulk cargo with a planned capacity of 8 million tonnes per annum (MTPA). The MPB spans 250 metres, with a draft of 14.5 meters at berth, ensuring seamless cargo operations.
The scope of work covers full mechanisation of the berth, development of allied facilities, installation of cargo-handling equipment, and operations and maintenance throughout the concession term. Around 300,000 sq. meters of land has been earmarked for storage.
The project carries an indicative capital cost of ₹630.67 crore and is expected to significantly enhance cargo handling efficiency at Paradip, boosting industrial and trade activity in the region.
