Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for projects worth ₹22,655 crore on Friday across Gujarat, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, and Lakshadweep, with a strong focus on expressways, ports, healthcare and aviation.

Highlights in Gujarat
- Modi will formally dedicate Packages VI and VII of the eight-lane, access-controlled Vadodara–Mumbai Expressway, enhancing high-speed connectivity between Gujarat and Maharashtra and boosting logistics efficiency.
- He will lay the foundation for four-laning of key stretches of National Highway–56, improving connectivity in tribal areas and access to the Statue of Unity.
- Projects span power transmission, industrial infrastructure, healthcare and civil aviation, aimed at strengthening logistics and supporting manufacturing hubs.
Daman – aviation, healthcare, urban assets
- Inauguration of the new terminal building at NAMO Airport (Daman) and dedication of NAMO Hospital, designed to serve around 1,500 outpatients daily.
- Foundation stones for ₹1,630 crore of projects including an iconic bridge, a convention centre, and a National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) campus to drive tourism, investment and employment.
Lakshadweep – port and maritime connectivity
- Four projects worth ₹885 crore will focus on developing port facilities on the eastern and western shores of Kalpeni and Kadmat islands, including multipurpose jetties capable of handling large passenger and cruise vessels up to 300 metres.
- The infrastructure will support passenger and cargo handling, plus integrated facilities for fish processing, fuel distribution, ice supply and boat maintenance.
The package is among the largest infrastructure investment announcements this year for western India and its island territories, aimed at improving logistics efficiency, regional connectivity and economic activity in manufacturing hubs, tribal regions and coastal areas. PM Modi’s visit is centred on Surat, Hazira and Daman on June 5, 2026.
