By acquiring the majority of Mexico-based ED Forwarding, PSA BDP has increased its footprint in Mexico and enhanced its capacity for cross-border logistics and customs. Mexico is an essential center for both regional and global trade because of its position and proximity to the ocean.

Strong distribution networks are becoming more and more necessary as nearshoring from Asia to Mexico increases. ED Forwarding, a Mexico City-based company, is said to be in a good position to satisfy this need in a variety of industries. The agreement will provide access to PSA’s worldwide terminal network, PSA BDP’s supply chain capabilities, and other services. The acquisition strengthens a partnership that dates back more than a decade, during which ED Forwarding was a partner agent in PSA BDP’s network. In order to increase service reach both within and outside of the region, the two businesses will integrate more closely and pool their resources and infrastructure.

Customers will benefit from a wider range of services, more operational effectiveness, and access to a more resilient logistics network that is adapted to the changing needs of the market. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work together on carbon emission monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) was signed in March by PSA, DNV Singapore (DNV), and Pacific International Lines (PIL).
