PSA Chennai (Chennai International Terminals Pvt Ltd) has officially surpassed a cumulative total of 13 million TEUs handled, marking a major milestone in the terminal’s operational journey.
Crossing 13 million TEUs at PSA Chennai reflects years of operational excellence, strong partnerships and the commitment of the team that keeps cargo moving every day. As a key gateway on India’s east coast, PSA Chennai continues to strengthen trade connectivity, improve supply chain efficiency and support the growing needs of businesses across the region.
Located at Chennai Port, PSA Chennai links manufacturing and commercial hubs across Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Puducherry directly to international routes in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Europe and Africa. The terminal features an 832-metre quay length with three dedicated berths, supported by advanced container-handling equipment including super-post-Panamax quay cranes and rubber-tyred gantry cranes.
PSA Chennai has been focusing on expanding direct rail connections to major Inland Container Depots, including Bangalore, and regional corridors to streamline cargo transit, while continuing to advance lower-carbon port operations through hybrid RTG systems and green rooftop solar integration.
As the terminal marks this milestone, its focus remains on supporting the next phase of trade growth with greater efficiency and stronger connectivity.
