PSA Halifax has expanded its global connectivity with the arrival of the vessel CMA CGM Cypress on its maiden call, marking the launch of CMA CGM’s INDAMEX service at the PSA Halifax Atlantic Hub. The new loop enhances direct trade links between the Indian Subcontinent, the Middle East and Canada’s East Coast, positioning Halifax as a key gateway for South Asia–North America cargo flows.

The INDAMEX service will connect major ports across South Asia and the Middle East with Halifax, supported by PSA’s deep-water berths, mega-ship cranes and on-dock rail. With CN providing inland rail links to Montreal, Toronto and the US Midwest, shippers gain faster, more reliable end-to-end routing options for both exports and imports.

CMA CGM Cypress, with a capacity of 8,586 TEUs, is among the first ships on the service, and PSA Halifax expects vessels of up to 10,000 TEUs to be deployed on the INDAMEX rotation. Terminal officials said the new service will support sustainable volume growth, diversify trade corridors for Canadian businesses and reinforce Halifax’s role as a strategic hub in Eastern North America’s container network.
