Qatar has declared it will continue to sell liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Bangladesh despite global energy supply concerns, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA). Seraya Ali Al-Qahtani, the Qatari ambassador to Bangladesh, met with State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam on Sunday to address subjects of mutual interest. During the Covid issue, the state minister commended Qatar’s government for providing immunisation support to Bangladesh expats and not returning them. He praised Qatar’s leadership for standing by him in international forums. Shahriar Alam briefed the ambassador on investment opportunities in Bangladesh and expressed hope that trade and investment between the two countries would grow during his stay. As Seraya Ali expressed his commitment to further strengthen relations with Bangladesh, Shahriar Alam assured him of all support.
