Stating that the state government is determined to complete the first phase of Ramayapatnam port trust by 2023, district collector KVN Chakradhar Babu has promised to extend fullest support to the project displaced families (PDFs), who sacrificed their lands for the construction of port.

He said the district would witness faster development, thanks to the Ramayapatnam port as it would bring more employment and economic growth to the region.

Addressing the meeting, collector said the state government is fully geared up to launch the port for operations in a span of 12 months. “We have acquired land from the residents of Mondivaaripalem, Avulapalem, Ravulapalem and Karlapalem villages of Gudlur mandal. We will provide fullest cooperation to the families in building the resettlement and rehabilitation colonies,” assured Chakradhar Babu.

Legislator Mahidhar Reddy said CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has directed the district administration not to ignore even a single family from getting their due benefits under R&R package. He said the port would spur exports and imports of agriculture and mining products which would generate employment.
