The Railway Board approved a special JPP-RCS train from Budgam in central Kashmir to Adarsh Nagar in Delhi. The new service is aimed at boosting the trade and export of Jammu and Kashmir’s traditional products.

The Northern Railways’ Jammu Division will operate the train, which would run every day. With eight parcel vans and a Seating-cum-Luggage Rake (SLR), there will be plenty of room for cargo. Bari Brahmana station in Jammu would also have loading and unloading facilities to help traders even more. According to the sources, the Jammu and Kashmir Police would be in charge of security measures during the service’s initial pilot phase.

According to Uchit Singhal, senior divisional commerce manager of the Jammu Division, the main goal is to give local traders a dependable and affordable transportation option.

According to the survey, these items will not only reach various areas of India more quickly, but with improved logistics support, they may even establish a bigger presence in global markets.

The train will be a more cost-effective option than driving, taking roughly 23 hours to get from Budgam to Adarsh Nagar in Delhi. Singhal went on to say that the service is now even more economical because traders no longer have to pay the registration charge.

By putting local producers in direct contact with vital markets and guaranteeing that the region’s distinctive products are promoted both domestically and internationally, officials think this move will significantly boost J&K’s economy.
