Saudi Arabia’s Ports Authority (Mawani) granted Pacific International Lines (PIL) a unified maritime agency license on February 20, 2026, enabling the Singapore-headquartered carrier to operate agencies across all Kingdom ports as a recognized foreign investor.
Issued under new Maritime Agency Services regulations, the permit streamlines PIL’s operations from its Riyadh regional HQ, covering vessel agency, logistics coordination, and port services nationwide. It attracts global expertise, fosters knowledge transfer, and aligns with best practices to boost port efficiency.
PIL, active in 29 countries, strengthens Saudi’s logistics hub ambitions under the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, linking three continents via Red Sea gateways. The move supports Vision 2030 by drawing international liners amid surging regional trade, including India’s growing Saudi crude imports.
This FDI milestone enhances container and bulk handling at Jeddah Islamic, King Abdullah, and Ras Tanura, complementing IMEC dynamics and Indian west coast port expansions.
