The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has formulated export incentive schemes aimed at incentivising merchandise exports, including that of steel. Over the last three years, steel imports from China have come down from 2.163 million tonnes to 1.562 million tonnes.  This is the result of imposition of anti-dumping duties and countervailing measures on Chinese steel imports, said an official communiqué.
