The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has approved an infrastructure development proposal for setting up an Integrated Manufacturing and Logistics Cluster (IMLC) near the Purvanchal Expressway in Sultanpur. The industrial cluster will be developed under the Industrial Corridor Scheme, with the estimated cost of the project pegged at Rs 272.25 crore.
The approval came as part of a broader set of decisions taken by the state cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Alongside the Sultanpur cluster, the cabinet also approved a major expansion of the Ganga Expressway, extending it up to Haridwar in Uttarakhand. The extension will be developed at an estimated cost of Rs 10,761 crore, covering around 100 km in Uttar Pradesh with an additional 30-km stretch in Uttarakhand, aimed at establishing a faster, controlled-access expressway connection between Prayagraj and Haridwar and significantly improving connectivity between the two Kumbh cities.
The Sultanpur cluster’s location near the Purvanchal Expressway positions it to benefit from the expressway’s existing connectivity, supporting the state’s broader push to develop industrial and logistics infrastructure along its expressway network as part of its Industrial Corridor Scheme.
