Hyderabad-based logistics professional Mehrunisha Begum has clinched the Gold Medal in the Logistics & Freight Forwarding category at the prestigious IndiaSkills Competition 2026, showcasing Telangana’s growing talent strength in supply chain and trade operations. Organized by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), IndiaSkills is the country’s flagship skill championship and a gateway for young professionals aspiring to represent India at the WorldSkills Competition.
Mehrunisha, an employee of Cargoman Logistics and an alumna of Begumpet Degree College, secured the top honour after progressing through a rigorous multi-stage selection process that began at the district level and advanced through state, regional and national rounds. Her performance in logistics and freight forwarding tasks—covering real-world competencies in documentation, multimodal transport planning, customs and compliance—stood out among competitors from across the country.
IndiaSkills 2026 has placed a strong spotlight on logistics as a critical enabler of India’s manufacturing, export and e‑commerce growth, with the competition designed to benchmark participants against global industry standards. The logistics and freight forwarding category tests not only technical knowledge but also problem-solving, speed, accuracy and customer-centric thinking—skills vital to managing today’s complex supply chains.
Mehrunisha’s achievement is being celebrated by the Telangana skills ecosystem and logistics fraternity as a milestone for women in a traditionally male-dominated sector. State-level stakeholders have highlighted her success as an inspiration for young aspirants, especially women, to pursue careers in logistics, freight forwarding and allied domains through structured skilling pathways.
As a national Gold medallist, Mehrunisha will now be in contention for advanced training and possible selection to represent India at the WorldSkills Competition, where top performers compete on a global stage across multiple trades. Her journey from local rounds to national recognition underlines the role of industry-linked skilling initiatives in building a future-ready logistics workforce aligned with India’s ambitions as a global trade and manufacturing hub.
