J.S Bindra appointed as Visakhapatnam Port’s New Chief

J.S. Bindra is new Chairperson of Visakhapatnam Port Authority. A 1997-batch IRTS officer, Bindra will serve as a Joint Secretary-level officer under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (India).

Jasmeet Singh Bindra, a 1996-batch Indian Railway Traffic Service officer, has been appointed Chairperson (Joint Secretary level) of the Visakhapatnam Port Authority under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways for a period of five years from the date of assumption of charge.

An engineering and management professional, Bindra holds a B.Tech in Electronics and an MBA. He brings nearly three decades of experience in transport administration, logistics, safety and commercial operations across the Indian Railways system. His career has included assignments as Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Director (Safety), Director in the Ministry of Coal, Chief Passenger Transportation Manager, Divisional Railway Manager, Executive Director/Gati Shakti, and Principal Chief Commercial Manager, reflecting deep expertise in multimodal connectivity, operational efficiency and institutional leadership.
