VOC Port has recorded a 65.77% year-on-year increase in limestone handling, moving 5,87,288 tonnes up to July in FY 2025–26, compared to 3,54,274 tonnes during the same period last year.

Limestone, a key raw material for the construction and manufacturing sectors, is witnessing strong regional demand. The port attributed the surge to improved operational efficiency, upgraded cargo-handling infrastructure, faster vessel turnaround, and enhanced last-mile connectivity for bulk cargo.

Industry experts say the performance underscores VOC Port’s growing role as a critical link in the raw material supply chain, supporting the country’s infrastructure and industrial growth. With sustained demand from cement plants, steel producers, and other industrial users, port officials are confident of maintaining the growth momentum in the coming months.
