V.O. Chidambaranar (VOC) Port, Tuticorin, has set a new benchmark by successfully handling windmill blades measuring 89.50 metres — the longest ever received at the port.

The blades, imported for Envision Energy India Pvt. Ltd., Pune, arrived onboard MV Bo Run Jiu Zhou from Qingzhou Port, China. The current consignment comprises 45 blades.

The complex operation was carried out seamlessly through the coordinated efforts of:

  • Parekh Marine Services Pvt. Ltd. – Ship Agent
  • Pearl Shipping & Chartering – Stevedore
  • NTC Logistics India Pvt. Ltd. – Customs House Agent & Transporter

Port officials said the achievement highlights VOC Port’s growing expertise and infrastructure capabilities in handling mega project cargo, especially in the renewable energy sector.

By successfully executing this landmark operation, VOC Port has reinforced its position as a preferred gateway for large-scale wind energy equipment imports, supporting India’s clean energy transition.
