The V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority (VOC Port) has announced that its Direct Port Entry (DPE) facility has crossed the 10,000-TEU milestone, handling 10,465 export containers up to August 2025. The benchmark was achieved on August 27, just four months after the facility’s inauguration in April.

Between April and August, the DPE facility accounted for 7.15% of the port’s total export-laden throughput of 146,418 TEUs, underscoring strong support from trade stakeholders.

Port officials said the initiative has streamlined connectivity from the hinterland directly to the terminal, reducing logistics costs and speeding up cargo movement. They expressed confidence that the DPE facility will further reinforce VOC Port’s role as a key gateway for South India’s trade and enhance its competitiveness in global shipping.
