August 18, 2020: MSC announced the enhancement of its Indus service with a new port call at Colombo in Sri Lanka to help customers in the United States to import from India’s east coast. The first vessel on the revised rotation will be Seamax Bridgeport, ETA Abu Dhabi on August 23, 2020.

“As a major international transshipment hub, the addition of Colombo will reinforce our offering for cargo shippers in Southeast India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh and facilitate new business in these markets. The new rotation will offer our U.S. customers the possibility to import cargo from anywhere in India on a single MSC service, boosting predictability for effective supply chain planning,” said the MSC notice.

The service will continue to operate as a standalone MSC service offering a competitive transit time from the Middle East and Indian subcontinent region to the U.S. East Coast.

The new rotation will be as follows:
Mundra – Nhava Sheva – Colombo – Haifa – New York – Savannah – Charleston – Freeport – Houston – Freeport – Gioia Tauro – King Abdullah Port – Abu Dhabi – Jebel Ali – Karachi Port Qasim – Mundra
